OUR MISSION

ENCOURAGE enhance restore

Crown Hill Ranch is dedicated to preserving our wildlife and natural resources.

We are working to encourage wildlife that exists on the property, enhance wildlife habitat, control invasive weeds and non-native plants, and restore wetlands and native California plant communities.

It is our mission and honor to preserve the lands that we have been given.

ABOUT THE RANCH

Crown Hill Ranch & Conservation Center is a privately owned 160 acres ranch located in Escondido California.

Located 100 miles south of Los Angeles and 35 miles north east of downtown San Diego this hidden gem is truly a gift.

At the ranch you will find rolling hills filled with mature trees including blue gum eucalyptus, lemon eucalyptus, coast live oaks and Engelmann oaks.

This preserved piece of property provides a safe home for mountain lions, golden eagles, mule deer, coyote, bobcat, quail, roadrunners, hawks, owls and wild turkey giving you the true feeling of the wild west.

Native California plants thrive on this protected piece of property including black button sage, laurel sumac, California poppy, white sage, lemonade berry & monkey flower giving the ranch a beautiful natural landscape.

A seasonal stream flows into a one acre pond and provides water for our wildlife and beauty to this tranquil place. Winding dirt roads run through the property forever changing the beautiful views in every direction.

Springtime fills the landscape with wildflowers while fall brings golden hues over the rolling hills.

The property is located next to the historic Rancho Guejito and surrounds the property on 3 sides providing a very quiet and isolated setting, over 21,000 acres of pure unspoiled beauty.

olive trees

Crown hill ranch is the proud owner 200 olive trees. We enjoy walking the olive tree lane that overlooks the beautiful sage filled San Pasquel Valley. Our olive trees are all Italian varieties and do very well in our climate.  These olives produce both eating and oil varieties.  Olives take very little water and are a wonderful addition to the fauna within the ranch. The olive trees provide essential habitat to birds and bees.
